Excellent album with well written songs. The gatefold has an awesome red Jaguar with Elton driving.

Adequate sound quality, but there are times when Elton's voice has this tinny sound that hits a semi-cringing note. I noticed that in the first song.

Elton's voice is fairly sharply defined and focused in the middle of the soundfield. This is really true of Take Me to the Pilot. Overall, his voice is generally centered well. The music itself is wide and somewhat encompassing.

It's a good SACD, but not great.

Best sounding CD of this album is this release, period. This or the Polydor reissues (uses the same master).

His second record, a youthful sounding Elton, with all the vocal and piano chops he will bring forward.
"Your Song" is one of his best known hits.

Audio sounds terrific. Enormous sounding strings, very prominent in the mix, with deep bass and exquisite presence. Piano sounds beautiful. Some nice overdriven guitar tones too.

Very nice pressing. 3.5 stars. Recommended.

This is the second album. It’s just in the wrong place.
